In my bathroom, there are no outlets. I want to add one to the lights above the vanity. There is space on the end for it, the wiring is the question.

Series, or parallel? Do I just wire it to the same wires going to the light, or in series with the light?

  1. you have to run it in parallel,if you run it in series the power will run through the bulb then the outlet, and you won't have as much power at the outlet.the bulb is a resistor.run a black white and ground to your outlet hook black-black....white-white ...ground-ground,hook the black and white wire where indicated on the back of the outlet.............tom

  2. You mustn't have an outlet in your bathroom. There is a water hazzard and electricity people and water are a bad combination. If you put in an extractor fan you connect it in the ceiling.

  3. Do NOT do DIY electrical work! simple as that.
