I need to write a paper on how a disability is a "shared experience." Any ideas?

A child with a disability affects their siblings.  My daughter attends a sibling workshop to help her cope with her autistic brother.  Disabilities are never limited to the person who has it.

A disability is a shared experience with anyone who is there in the disabled person's life. When the disabled person accomplishes something, someone who works with and/or cares for the person will feel the sense of accomplishment.

Umm,a person who has a disability often has to rely on the help of others to do things they cannot do themselves. freinds and family especially have to do this.

Depending on the disability you could name a few and how the disabled are seen by a multitude of doctors or clinics staffed with different doctors related to the disability.  This is also a shared experience because if employed, accomodations may need made; if relating to public, the disabled must be able to make people feel comfortable and be able to do the job...

Really it depends on the disablilty. Being short is a disability because things are at "normal height" for people and short dont reach it.  They may need tools to reach (someone had to make the tool) or ask someone.

Both me and only child was born with various Disabilities.

A sibling of child with Disabilities might have to defend their brother/sister with Disabilities from other people that might bully and tease them.

Being a Person With Disabilities (PWD), you are sometimes dependent on Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) to do things for you.
