I have an 1995 850 GLT Volvo. I scratched the door and need touch up paint. The color is royal blue (color code 460). Help!

  1. If the scratch is white, the scratch is in the clear and able to be fixed by buffing with a rubbing compound.  I'd try this first, otherwise if you can feel the scratch with your finger nail, an autobody supplier would be able to mix up an inexpensive amount of  touch-up.  Keep in mind though (especially on a door, and depending how big the scratch is) touch up jobs never look near as good no matter how close the color match is.

  2. Cool, I have an black 95 850 Wagon! Nice cars.

That is a "base/clear" system. Is the scratch through to the primer, or just the clear? If just the clear, it may buff out.

Any autmotive paint supply store, or many body shops can mix you up a pint of enamel to match. Beware, it may cost about $50.00 or more!

Turtle Wax makes a colored wax that may cover it up, of course that isn't permanent. It also has a color stick with it for deeper scratches. I use this on some areas of my car, and have used it on others as well.

You can also use a crayon of similar color. While car is in hot sun, rub the crayon over the scratch until it is filled up, then add a coat of regular car wax. It works well.

You can also get an enamel model paint kit for less than ten bucks. Mix up colors until you get a good match.
