  1. sometimes all it takes is practice and somtimes your friends can give you really good advise.

  2. Practice Practice Practice

    Practice makes perfect you know!

  3. Ask your coach to help you by telling you any things you should work on or any techniques she would like to suggest.

I joined the volleyball team my sophomore year not KNowing anything but having to get the ball to the other side of the net.

My coach was so helpful and I was voted captain two weeks later. Your coach is there to help you and train you.

If you want, try asking your teammates for help on anything to get better or ask the older Varsity team (if youre in JV) they are experienced. Go watch other school games to see how they practice and may be make some friends with them.

  4. practice makes perfect

  5. Setting: Lay on the ground and set the ball up so it will fall back down to you every day. I do 200 sets a day. If you can find a partner, kneel on one knee and let the partner throw the ball to you and you set it back. Another thing you can do with a partner is to sit on your bottom with your knees bent. Have your partner through the ball high to you and you set it, once you set it, lean back (like a sit up). After a 10-20 sets, have your partner go farther so it'll build muscle strength. You can also squeeze a tennis ball or a stress ball to strengthen your fingers.

Bumping: With a partner, kneel on one knee and have your partner drop the ball and bump it to her. If you're by yourself, bump it to yourself or against a wall.

Hitting/spiking: Practice wrist snaps. It's kind of like dribbling a ball, but when it bounces back up, snap your wrist at the ball. You can also practice your spiking approaches.

Blocking: Jump rope with ankle weights is good if you want to jump higher. You can also go to a wall..stand a few inches away from it and start jumping making your fingertips touch the wall.

    Serving: Practice your form.

You can also do some sprints too. You can go into your backyard, start by laying down on your stomach, and then get up and start sprinting. I guess this is supposed to help with your explosiveness and reaction to a ball.

  6. make sure your feet are always set and have fun with it

  7. Hmm....if you know everything, then you don't need to do better! I miss those days lol

  8. espn volleyball
