  1. I found this article it may help.

But from all the research I've done on this topic Necrons are ridiculously powerful. And in my personal opinion you may have better luck with Space Marines.

  2. I don't think it will be that easy with Orks, better switch to some other Army

  3. Well this is a common problem with an ork army but there are a few things you can do. Well a looted tank with a boomgun is a good start it has a ordnance shot but still has a hard time taking down the monolith becasue it is strengh 8 and so it needs a 6 on armor pen to hurt it but since it still gets its 2 dice to try it. Also THe tank bustas unit has alot of fire power to throw at it but they are orks and ork shooting is not the best but the more dice you throw the better. My normal solution to it is to stay away from it just work on killing the rest of his troops if you can get him to phase out then all the better. the best way to do that is concentrated fire. shot one unit till it is dead and if it has no one near it it cant stand up. orks have power in numbers get those numbers out there and get up close and kick his a**. WAAAAAAGH

  4. Orks have one substantial advantage over Necrons: the strength of numbers.  If you leverage this, then your opponent will always struggle against you - especially if he takes a monolith!

I'm assuming that you play scenarios rather than just always doing a "last man standing" game.  If you *do* do the latter, then switch to playing scenarios.  There are some armies that are nigh-on unbeatable in LMS games which always struggle in objective-driven games.  You should also play Gamma orOmega level games to benefit from Victory Points.

That Monolith is a great thing in game of 1500 points or less.  He has to invest so many points in it that he will find that there is a limit to how many 'crons he can put on the table.  Anything you've got that *can* damage the Monolith should focus entirely and exclusively on killing it.

Your next objective must be killing the Lords with their inevitable Cloak of Darkness and Resurrection Orbs (remember - only one Cloak of Darkness per army!).  Eliminate these and the monolith and you're halfway to victory.  Lords are most vulnerable to massed assaults: something that Orks are notoriously good at.  Some Stormboyz and/or a Trukk Mob or two are perfect in this role.  Identify the Lord and get into combat with him as quickly as humanly possible.  Keep a reserve squad to hand to pile in when the first squad gets whittled down (Stormboyz following Trukk Boyz is perfect for timing).

Once you've achieved these objectives, turn your attention back to the scenario objectives.  You should make sure you have appropriate scoring units ready to move in Turn 3 to secure your objective, whatever it might be.  Biker Boyz, Trukk Boyz and Stormboyz are, again, immensely useful in this respect.

The other thing you have to do is prevent your Necron opponent from doing the same.  This is where your Grots come into their own.  Two or even three big squads of Grots should be able to swamp his Warriors at the centre of the board, pinning them in place for at least two turns and probably leaving him insufficient time to claim those vital objectives in the last two turns.

Don't get distracted with the shiney bitz.  Mega-armour, shokk attak guns, Weirdboyz and suchlike are too unpredictable and unmanoeuvrable to fare well against the 'crons.  Lootaz are great to provide some survivable firepower to bring down that Monolith, but make sure you have some additional firepower to do the job.  Ork rokkit launchers are Assault weapons, so can move and fire.  Take lots of them.

Now, go eat metal stickmen for breakfast!
