  1. Actually, dynamic characters are characters that change throughout a work and are constantly evolving.  Static characters remain the same.  Round characters are ones that have depth, such as feelings and a clear/distinct personality.  Flat characters are one dimensional characters.  Archetypal characters are ones that have been used repeatedly, such as the hero and the damsel in distress.

To give characters depth, include dialogue and thought-shots (show what they are thinking by italicizing their thoughts and emotions).

Make sure you show the reader what the characters look like by using detailed descriptions.  Observe people in your life that may remind you of one of your characters and just describe that person.

  2. I'm not really sure what you're asking for, but google a 'dynamic character' or 'dynamic vs static.' You'll probably get something that could help with their personality. My character's appearances usually resemble the species' norm with nothing and slowly fill out as I develop them as characters - their personalities and history and whatnot. So that'll probably come as you make them more dynamic, for lack of a better term.

    Good luck!
