i wanted to know if there are sites that predict based on current cost of living in various metro cities of india for a particular occupation (like web developer, bangalore). This added info can be of great help while negotiating salaries. thanks.

Well, I doubt if this is going to cover India and you have to pay a fee to get the real low-down, but salary.com and salaryexpert.com are pretty good places to find info about salaries and other co. info.
