i work in a supermarket in the bakery department, and the bakery is in the corner of the store, and i work in the back with little customer interaction besides selling cakes. my friend is a cashier and she is always busy and i feel that all the kids my age are cashiers and that i'm missing out on everything thats going on in the store because im stuck isolated in the bakery. should i become a cashier or just stay in the bakery? i hear cashier is stressful, and i do like my bakery job

  1. Talk to your boss about this as they may be able to give you a trial as being a cashier to see if you like it. Better still they may be able to split you between cashier and bakery???

I would expect that being a cashier would come with its challenges; irate customers, impatient customers, getting the orders through the checkout quickly, seeing the queue building in a busy period... mmmm :) I guess it all depends on whether you want challenge or not.

  2. what do you do in the bakery? are you happy with your job? if your are not you have to explore and try other jobs... its nice to know and experience other jobs while you are still young... there you Will see your potentials and train yourself in handling pressure... but then it is always important that you are happy with what you are doing...
