  1. well maybe you should try comprimising with your mom, like suggesting getting a prepaid phone to start with...about the makeup I wouldn't make such a big deal about it (I'm not allowed either and I'm almost 16), about the eyebrows if they're not THAT bushy you shouldn't trip about it, maybe you should focus on school for a while and get really good grades and maybe you're mom will give in to some stuff as a reward or something....

  2. Enjoy being different.  Nothing worse then being a cookie cutter mold of every other teen on the planet.

Also thank your mother for being bold enough not to allow you to fry your brain with microwave radiation, and smear chemicals all over your face.

By the way, guys are attracted to people who are different....

  3. You need to talk to her and tell her you aren't a little kid anymore, but don't tell her everybody else has a cellphone that isn't really a good reason, tell her that when you go out you'd like to have a cellphone just in case you have to call someone or ask her what you should do if you needed to talk to her and you were in trouble or something, tell her that's a good reason to have a cellphone. The plucking eybrows, I say do it secret, there's nothing wrong with doing it and wear make up only on special occasions, don't worry about that part really.good luck!

  4. I got a cell at 11, wearing makeup at 11, and started WAXING my eyebrows at 10.  So you know what . . . DEAL WITH IT!!!! I didn't ask for a cell,to wear makeup, or to start waxing my eyebrows. It was all mommy dearest. You can't change her mind, once mom says no stop asking!!!! It will be better if you stop nagging her because she will finally see you've grown up and stopped whining about little stuff. Geez.

  5. Just ask her why she doesn't approve of any of these things. She may have a good reason, and you shouldn't disresepct your mom. If having her explain why make you feel any better, maybe you can bargain with her. For Example, you will give up blasting music for a few weeks, if you can get a cell phone. Something like that, I hope this helps!!! : )

P.S don't listen to the first person!

  6. Just let your mom be MOM, i don't think people can change your moms ways, she seems pretty firm...

  7. how about just deal with it cell phones are really alowed in school i mean before and after school but you kids these days play with them whenever anyways how old are you if your 16 then it should be time to let you wear make up but a cell phone is a must have thing the plucking eyebrows why not do it yourself i use to have badly bush eyebrows and i'm 19 and i pluck them myself

  8. tell her you need one for emergency purposes only, because if you get raped, who are you gona call?? seriously though. and then after a while, the emergency phone will turn into a more social phone.

  9. Let me tell you something I was in the same position as you. But let me tell you something listen to her don't be stuburn. Even though those kids might laugh at you and stuff don't even pay attention to them because one day you will be looking at them and saying at least I am not like those low lifes. Trust me my mom did the same thing to me and stuff and I never listened to her and now I am having problems because I didn't want to listen to my mom. And now I am listening to her while its too late,TRUST me though. You are beautiful in the inside. Even though it might kill u so bad. Just listen to her. You will have a good life.,

  10. if youre still in elementry school then you can get one of those firefly things, but once middle school comes you need a cell phone for emergencies and you should explain that to her because if youre stuck somewhere and theres no phone in sight, then what are you going to call on? and since yu are in middle school, that just gives you a reason to need one more.

  11. Okay, ladybug...you sound sooo much like my 15 y/o. or I'm your moms twin sister. I'm WAY over protective too.  She is about to "die" for a cell and I'm constantly tell her she doesn't need one. She, like you hasn't shown why you NEED it. If you are in school, your friends should be too....nothing should happen so bad that you can't get to a teacher or an office phone...If you stay on the campus where you should be.

Makeup  ruins your natural beauty, irritates your skin, destroys your pores, when older you will Have to wear it to cover what you've messed up.

Eyebrow plucking iritates the brow area, get a small brush and brush them down, you only need to remove the ones that shed.

Being home alone can be very dangerous and she can't  work or whatever if she is constantly concerned about who watched her leave and is waiting to prey on you.

However, I would agree that you or my daughter would need a cell phone if you are allowed to go out babysitting.

Congrats on the 4.0 average. Major accomplishment. Keep that up!

Who needs a phone girl...you got smarts.

  12. Blog on MySpace about it, while listening to your Panic! At the Disco CDs as you wear a black t-shirt with a depressing quote on it.

  13. i came from over protective mother and and as i grew up i realized alot of things she did she had good reasons for. now with that said maybe you can try and bargain and rationalize with your mom maybe ask her about just wearing a little lip gloss every now and then and talk  to her about the the phones that allow parents to control how and when kids use them...by the way by teen do you mean 13 or 18 cuz there is a big difference. good luck

  14. You are a teen, do you really NEED a cell phone?  No.

Staying at home alone?  It's her choice, what she is comfortable with.  You are still under her roof.

You do not need to pluck your eyebrows, unless they are out of control.  I did too early, now I have like no eyebrows.

And you definitely don't need to wear makeup, once you start you can't stop.  If you don't wear makeup, your face will stay better longer, trust me.

  15. Explain to her about if there is a incident at school and you cant get to a phone being kidnapped so you will be able to talk to her and text and tell her or the cops where you are and if you go to the mall by yourself she wont know where you are so she will be able to talk to you and know what time to leave plus with a phone you will be able to see the time at all time

    I WISH YOU THE BEST!

  16. Just save up some moneyand buy a prepaid for yourself and don't let your mom know, I mean what she doesn't know can't hurt her that much, my friends do it all the time, the buy a cheap prepaid cellphone and put and easy $15 on it. If your mom asks why you want an allowance just tell her it's to help you manage your money and nthat you'll on spend it on lunch for you and your family only and emphazie ONLY.

  17. Sorry, but the fact that "everyone else has one" isn't necessarily a valid reason for you to have your own phone.  You can't use phones at school, and when you are home, you have a landline, so do you really NEED to have one, other than the status symbol aspect of being able to say "Look, I have a cell phone!"

There is mounting evidence that excessive phone use may be linked to brain tumors, and it is believed that teenagers may be particularly vulnerable to the effects of the radiation.  So perhaps part of her reluctance is that she is concerned for your health.

Regarding the other issues, I'm not sure how old you are, but your mother must obviously think you are too young for makeup.  Personally, I think most girls start wearing too much of it too young anyway.  Maybe you could just sit her down sometime and ask if you could use a little mascara and some tinted lip balm (like Burt's Bees or something like that--not too glossy, and not too much color).  See what she says to that.

  18. She probably won't let you have a cell phone because she doesn't want you distracted in school by texting. How old are you? If she won't let you stay home alone I'm guessing your either in middle school or elementary school. When your that young, plucking your eye brows and wearing makeup isn't that big of a deal.
