  1. How long is your cycle?

You can try an ovulation calculator... here's one from Today's Parent

In terms of a baby girl... there are a couple of things you could try.

    Timing Intercourse

Studies indicate that the sperm with the X chromosome - or female chromosome - have a longer life span than the male sperm (with the Y chromosome).

Yet the male sperm appear to have a higher motility. Sperm motility is measured in two ways: percentage of sperm exhibiting movement, and the quality - or dynamics - of this movement, which is called the forward progression. Poor motility means the sperm have a difficult time swimming toward the egg.

Hence, "female sperm" exhibit less motility - yet have a longer life span. The "male sperm" exhibit increased motility, but have a shorter life span than the X chromosome sperm.

It is believed that if intercourse takes place closer to ovulation, then the probability is greater that the child will be male, due to the high motility (forward progression) and the decreased life span of the sperm.

The sperm with the X chromosome - or female chromosome - have a longer life span than the male sperm, but exhibit decreased motility. Therefore, intercourse that takes place earlier may provide increased probability of a girl.

    Diet is another possible influence.

As related to what one eats, the consensus today is if there is any dietary influence, it is limited. Previous studies have shown a mother-to-be's diet high in potassium and sodium including vegetables, bananas, fish and meat may favor the conception of a baby boy.

A diet high in calcium and magnesium including milk, beans, cereals, cheese and nuts may favor a baby girl. Because of the minimal influence, if any, on the outcome of the s*x of the baby, the best advice is to eat a healthy diet during the time you are trying to get pregnant and then all through pregnancy. 2. there is no magic to make it a boy or a girl..it all depends on guy's sperm....nobody can create the gender, but itself inside will create a one and you have to accept it whether its a boy or girl.   Those who counts the days or months as to chinese is all about myth, wishing to believe it, but its not 100% accurate actually making it. It's just overal guessing.

Also you should be old enough to know when you are ovulating or ask ur doctor.

  3. There is an easy way for you to find out yourself.  It's the only way to find out for certain.  An ovulation prediction test.  It's likely you may ovulate around August 2, but not for certain.  If you start testing now (tip: don't drink any water or pee from noon until 2 pm - test at 2 pm daily) until you get a positive.  You then know you'll ovulate within the next 48 hours.

It's said that the X sperm (those that make the girls) live longer, but swim more slowly. In order to use this to your advantage, you'll need to know exactly when you ovulate. Buy an ovulation kit with 30 strips (it's a 'pee in the cup and dip it' kind of test). Start testing at about 7 days after your period. Have s*x daily at this point, especially if you see that you have ewcm (mucus on your toilet paper that looks like egg whites, it's clear and very stretchy) as it will allow sperm to live longer and make it up until the time you ovulate - 7 days even!). As soon as you get a positive ovulation test.....stop having s*x. I know this sounds weird, but what this allows is for the following scenario to play out. By the time you ovulate and all that sperm for days ago make it there, the 'y' sperm will have died and the slow, long living 'x' sperm will have just made it there. The down side is it may take you a little longer to get pregnant, especially if you have little or no ewcm. Do this for a couple months (you can use the extra strips the following month even though the manufacturers suggest you only sue them during one month.

    This is my best suggestion.
