I need your help about video format, can you help me?

First I watch video in avi format on my dvd player (my player supports diff. video format.) but i cannot read the subtitle. The resolution of video is 640x480.

Second, I burned the video in a dvd but nothing is change, I still cannot read the subtitles...

How if I change the resolution?? What resolution do you think?

  1. What you could try is.  Install media player  Gomplayer.

    go to preferences     --  others  --   select all

    File Types    -  Codec

    Then go to preferences

    Video

    There you have all kind of options to play around with resolution etc etc

    Try out the options and I am sure, you find the right one.

    Gomplayer is a player that does play 95 % of all file types.

  5. Usually, for a DVD or multimedia player to automatically play a subtitle file together with the actual video, it must have the same name :

    For example :

    My.Video.is.this.avi

    ...and the subtitle file must be like this :

    My.Video.is.this.srt

    Do both file names match? If not, your DVD player will not pick it up automatically.

  7. Run the dvd in DVD shrink

    When you have it open, click edit, then preferences

    On the stream selections tab, check "Disable all subpicture except menus and forced streams"
