I need your help identifing a snake i found in my yard

i found the snake skin sticking half way out of a hole in the bottom of a tree in my back yard..its is all one color ,brown, no markings.no strips or spots..about 3 feet in length..

  1. You are omitting much needed information. In order to tell what kind of snake, or narrow it down, where do you live? There are dozens of plain brown snakes around, but region is important in identification.


  2. It's difficult enough identifying a shed skin in person. Color is lost when the skin is shed, most are brownish. Not knowing where you live, we can't even begin to narrow down what solid-colored snakes you have in your area, also any patterning would be VERY faint. If you can find a local herpetological society or maybe a nearby museum of natural history or a college with a biology department, they would be able to help you much more than we can going by what we've got here.
