  1. Why not let the kids make their own growth chart.  You could start at the height that they are currently at.  Then when they get it home they can hang it some where and their parents can see and enjoy it too.

You could also get seeds to some plant and let the kids plant the seeds and watch their own plants grow.

Good luck, I would love to see how things go.

  2. :-)  Yes, I'm one of those people...but since I don't see your name over and over and over with obvious homework questions, I don't mind helping you.

A newsletter... Well...I've really only have done monthly ones but let's see if I can give you an idea about a weekly one.  You could use light green paper to represent "spring/growing".  On the top I would use a title such as Our Weekly Newsletter...or Take a Peek...See What We Did This Week!

Remember that parents do not have time or often chooses not to read long paragraphs...so I often used rectangle boxes and bulleted items.  Suggestions for you to put in them.

    *  Book Corner:  The main book you focused on and a brief review of it.  Be sure to include author's name.

    *  Child's Artwork:  Have  one of the children or multiple children draw a small picture for the newsletter and include it.  If this is an ongoing project...it's fun to assign one child per week.

    *  Community Helper Corner:  A brief review of your pet shop's owner's visit and the children's response.

    *  Science Corner:  Brief review of the science experiment and the results...comments that the children made and a very brief explanation of why it did what it did... this is so that the parent can correctly respond to the children's questions.

    Hope that helps you.
