write a delaration of indepence from something that you feel is oppressing you. it can be anything. your declaration must follow the structure of "The Declaration of independence" and utilize literary/persuavie technique

Structure:

introduction

list of offenses/reasons for dissent(at least 3)

explain how you have responded to these offenses in the past.

end with an assertion of what must be done.

  1. Here's one I wrote specially for you. Hope it makes you laugh :)

    Thesis statement -

When in the course of education, the burden of homework becomes intolerable, the loss of index fingers and thumbs requires that students everywhere raise what's left of their hands in protest and wave goodbye to long, tedious essays.

    Introduction -

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all hands are created equal, that they are endowed with fingers by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights; that among these are unbent knuckles, freedom from callouses, and the pursuit of the next level in Gameboy.

    List of offenses -

Fingers have been worn by the oppression of deadlines.

Fingers have been rapped by the rulers of cross marks.

Thumbs have been forced to point down to a blank page instead of up at the teacher.

    Response in past -

In every stage of their abuses, fingers from around the class rooms have scribbled their ink-stained pleas for justice. They have written it in the form of songs, they have written it in the form of poetry, they have written it in the form of prose. They have drawn it plainly for all to see on the toilet walls.

    Assertion -

Has this not been the patient suffering of these handfuls of digits?

We, the students, therefore, do in the name of fingers everywhere, solemnly declare that all fingers  should have the freedom to stick up for themselves. That it is their right, that it is their duty to throw off the shackles of too much homework and to form a long overdue victory V.
