So I am a freshmen at a shoddy college. I work as a statistical assistant and will be able to work there until I graduate, if I so desire.

I wanted to be a business major but I am only of average intelligence so I will not be able to go through the business program with decent grades. So, I am thinking about being a psychology major instead.

So I am considering transferring back home. There I would be a business major like I originally anticipated.

I am looking into becoming a health care administrator or human resources eventually.

Would psychology bachelor's be adequate for entry level health care admin work?

Also, I would be willing to go for a Master's degree.

I am also willing to join the Peace Corps or a military branch.

What would you recommend?

Oh, also I would be double majoring in Spanish no matter what. I will also spend next semester in Mexico.

Not trying to be offensive, but could ppl only answer questions they actually know.

But I know psych major jobs suck

  1. I was a psych major.  The bachelor's level degree really is nothing more tha overpriced toilet paper.  No entry level jobs to speak of, really.

If you burn more money on a Masters, you can get an entry level job in the field (and not much else), but it will probably pay peanuts and overall, not cost effective.

I say that you struggle through business and get an MBA, you should be able to kick open some better doors with that.  But honestly, you should have been an Engineer or something like that.  That pays more coin per credit hour.

  2. PSychology is a great degree to have because it can be applied in just about any profession. As an undrgrad the pay in the medical field is pretty minimal and I wouldn't suggest going that route unless you REALLY want to work in the medical field.

Now. Since you like business how about a double major of business and psychology (master in psych). You work as an industrial/organizational psychologist!! Cha Ching, thats big money.

  3. i have know idea of what ur talking about but good luck!!
