  1. I have to agree. Korean immigration/working laws are being tightened regarding qualifications. These days you need at least a three yr degree with a TESOL or TEFL certificate. A four year degree in English or in education may also help. I taught in Korea for three years on a three year degree/CELTA eligibility for my visa. A good site to go to would be eslcafe.com.

Most places that offer positions offer reimbursement as a way of getting people over to work. If you are a qualified teacher (ie teaching degree), you could try and get a government job in a public school.  There are heaps of sites out there, just keep looking.

  2. I'm currently working as an ESL teacher in China.  I've been doing this for about four years now.  For Korea, you will need either a university degree or a TEFL, TESOL or equivalent degree.

If you want more detailed information you would have to ask much more specific questions.  Feel free to email me at my other email address jericho [dot] mccune [at] gmail [dot] com and I can give you better information and advice as well as point you towards some great websites to offer help.
