I neeeed help! Please anyone!?

okay, i HATE wearing pads! and i have had my period for almost 8 months now and i have tried OVER AND OVER to wear tampons, and i never exactly get it in far enough.. help please... any suggestions?!

Hey ! I had exactly the same problem.

Try putting a leg up on the toilet seat or crouching down as if you were a frog.

Also it shouldnt hurt to insert the tampon, so if it does-DONT FORCE IT FURTHER! you're doing it wrong.

Insert it at an angle, directed towards your back.

Also, tampons that are plastic coated ( not coardboard ) will go in much easier.

put your thumb and finger where it tells you to on the tampon and push it in until your fingers touch yourself and then push the other bit in. keep it in the same place whilst you're pushing the inside part in or it wont go in far enough. don't worry, you'll get there eventually, it took me a few tries too.

The ones with plastic applicators *definitely* make things easier for girls who've never used tampons before... but once you know how, anything that's comfortable to wear will be easy to insert.

Helpful advice (beyond the semi-useless package directions)? Yeah... just three things:

1) Aim the tampon more towards your back than upwards... your v****a actually goes *back* for more than half of its length, not just up.

2) It'll be easier to do the first time if things are slippery "down there", so don't wipe away any blood and stuff until you've got the tampon in place. If there's very little blood there, just smear a couple of drops of saliva on the tip of the tampon (or its applicator if it has one) and it'll make things a lot more comfortable.

3) Relaxation is important. If relaxing isn't easy for you, try pushing just a little bit as if you're trying to p**p or pee... your pelvic muscles will relax a bit and that will help a *lot*.
