  1. I've played baseball, basketball & football, but I have to say that golf is the most challenging sport I've ever played.

I like it for the challenge, being outside, and hanging out with my buddies once a week.

  2. You could ask anyone the same question who plays darts, goes bowling, practices shooting or archery. These, along with golf, are all competitive feats of skill, with the special twist that they are largely an internal struggle and an ongoing challenge for a personal best. Perfection is not often achieved, but chance also plays a role along with the player's own skill.  Golf also has the advantage that you get to play in an artfully designed and maintained outdoor setting, and face all the challenges of playing in all sorts of weather conditions. The variables and ways to test your skills are almost infinite.

All that said, pulling off a perfect swing and just creaming that ball into oblivion is flat out FUN!

My main complaint about golf is that it is way too expensive, and some people use outrageous costs and private club memberships to exclude others. That's the ugly side of golf. Happily there are plenty of affordable public courses all over the world for everyone to enjoy (as long as you can pay for it)...

  3. I have to be decent at everything I do.  I started playing golf when I was really young, but as I got older I got into other sports.  With Tiger's success, golf seemed like it was fun.  I started playing again and anyone can tell you; you can hit 100 bad shots, but hit 1 that is pure then you get hooked.  Then you spend a long time figuring out how to get better and once you see results that is all you want to do.  Plus the fact that pros make it look so easy.  I live in the midwest and go through withdrawal every winter.  It's been raining a lot lately so I've only played twice since November; once this month.  I can't wait to get back out there.  If you love to be outside and enjoy nature/nice scenery, there are some beautiful golf courses around.  Then there is the camaraderie playing with the fellas.  My dad and I have this competition going.  It's one sided.  I beat him more often than he beats me.  I've made new friends playing golf.  If I could find a hot chick who played golf, that would be perfect.  I wouldn't care if she was better than me.  Seriously!

  4. I love the nature aspect of it.  The hills, trees and water.  Its very relaxing if you don't allow your bad shots to get the best of you.

  5. You're right..... It's a terrible game..... Stay away, Stay away!!

  6. I enjoy the fact that I play only against myself. Nothing my fellow players can do (legally) will affect me. And with each round, I just try to better the last.

  7. You can never perfect golf. But since the human mind wants everything to be perfect, we keep coming back for more, and more, and more. It's very addictive.

Sometimes when you're hacking you say to yourself "Why do I play this game, its so stupid" but you end up hitting a GREAT shot and think "Hey that was kinda fun" and it makes you want to come back for more.

There's nothing else in the world like striking a pure 2 iron... just that 'Thwack!' sound, so perfect, so wonderful.

That's why I love to play golf.

  8. Ive played every sport basketball, football and baseball. Golf has been the most enjoying and challenging sport I have tried. Give it a try and youll love it.

  9. I hate golf, I only play 5 days a week. It's a challenge, it's fun ,it's a healthy pastime,try it some time.

  10. because when the ball goes the way you want it too its a beautiful sight. but its boring too watch.

  11. It's a challenge and fun!
