i left school in 2006 and on results day i couldnt make it because i was still on holiday.

i went a day later to collect them and i was given what i thought was my results but when i applied for a A-level course i took my 'certificates' and they told me they were results statments and ill will after do keyskills when i don't need to.

i don't want pay for new ones, it wasnt my fault, i was never given my results!

what do i do?

will my old school still have them?

  1. i believe they keep them for 1 year, i collected mine after finishing sixth form, couldnt believe my luck,  the office lady was actually packing them to send back to the exam body, so they were all in an envolope!!!

If you cant collect they need a signed note from you, if they dont have them its about a tenner from the exam bodies.

  2. It depends which exam board you sat with. Contact them for a copy.

Your school will not have your certificates, they will only have your results

  3. if you have a results statement, somewhere along the line your certs will have been sent to your school which you would have had to collect.

Contact the school where you took your GCSEs and ask them, they will/should be able to sort this out but you may have to pay a fee if you didnt collect the cert first time round.

basically, the results statement contains results which are provisional, meaning they can change after results day (one example was in my sisters school year for her GCSE in Welsh they forgot to add on the coursework marks, so everyone went up a grade which was shown on their certs but obv not on the statements, but it is also possible to go down if they realise something).  This is why the A-Level course people can't accept them.

Unfortunately, it does say on the certificates that they will be sent back if not collected, therefore I would contact the school who will either look into it for you, or will give you the numbers to contact the exam boards yourself.

i would expect a small charge, this is usually for 'administration'.
