  1. You use science in many different factors of your life. Also you don't know what you will be doing in  10 years. You may need that knowledge then.

  2. We all learned things in school that we never use at our jobs.  Some things we learned because they taught us how to think in useful ways.  And other things, such as science, we learned because they help us understand our world.

  3. Scientific thinking requires learning how to categorize.  For example, this question is not about etiquette.

  4. Think of it as exercise for your brain!

  5. well, this isn't etiquette, but anyway....

the facts that you learn in science or any subject aren't that important....you will use critical thinking skills and the learning/studying/memorizing skills you have used in science class in the real world.....you can always look facts up again, but the processes are what your teachers should really be after

  6. Because a good chunk of people end up in jobs that have nothing to do with their major...

  7. Science is for your life.

Gametes, genetics, osmosis, static electricity, mammals, insects, plants.

Science helps you with who and what you are. It helps you understand the world around you.

Having a job that deals with one more in depth is just a bonus.

  8. You would be surprised at how many people can't grasp how their medication works or why they are sick or why the doctor can't snap some fingers and solve their medical condition because they do not even understand simple science.

  9. It didn't hurt you to learn that stuff...get over it.
