Silvio Berlusconi first admitted that the Milan outfit could not afford to say no to an offer like that, given the financial pressure that the club is going through.
However, the President decided to turn down the lucrative offer from PSG, following negative reactions from manager, players and fans of the Italian giants.
The Brazilian international has now been offered an improved contract by the Rossoneri, and the defender is happy that he did not move to Ligue 1.

"To be honest, I never thought about leaving Milan. In all the interviews I gave I said I wanted to stay and continue my career at Milan. But because I had done well, other clubs opened their eyes and it was only normal that an offer arrived. But I'm glad
I stayed. I said that my thinking was to make history just as Maldini and Baresi did. And to be compared with them is an honour."
