I nned help finding work as an excavator driver.?

Hi James here,I am finding hard finding employment in the field I want.I have my CSCS card.Also have an operators card for excavator and dumper/tipper.How do I get my foot in the door with a company.I've tried e-mailing,sending covering letter and telephoning.Any ideas will be welcome.I amlooking for a job near Camberley/Reading and surrounding areas.Have full licence.Anyone out there who can help.perhaps you work for a company with vacancies.

  1. During the 60's & 70's I was a skilled excavator / 'dozer driver, when it was impossible not to have a job (Opencast Coal Sites, Motorway Construction, Gas Pipelines, Colliery Waste Heaps, etc. etc.) such was the demand for operators .

      I know things have changed, but I would think one thing will still be the same,and that is the fact that an 'idle' machine costs money, so if someone arives on a site with the capability of driving that machine the job is his(or hers nowadays).

      With that in mind, don't rely on writing or phoning, visit all Civil Engineering and Building sites in the area that you want, and 'state your case'
