since i was 8 i played competitive tennis, i love the sport its my passion. i received a scholarship to play for a division 2 school in ohio which was private and very expensive but the scholarship covered about 80% of it. well there was a budget cut and the coach cut my scholarship because there was another girl who was as good as me whos parents were loaded and she was willing to pay in full just for a spot so, i was cut from the team. i was devestated but knew that i wasnt going to turn pro so im concentrating more on my career after i graduate and ive transfered to a nursing school in which i will have my rn degree a year before my class graduates, so thats the good part probably. but now, i feel horrible that i cant be on the team and that i wont be playing anymore. i love tennis to death and seeing that my friends which most are on the team going back to school early for practice and that whole being on a college team atmosphere is gone now, im just a regualr now in the world working part time and going to school. my bf goes to the same school and is on the cross country and track team, so knowing when he has those away games and team bondings it just makes me worthless to be honest. i loved been fit and having so much to do in my day, and now it seems like everyday i just will have work and school and have to wait for all my friends and bf to finish practice. i just need advice on what should i do to feel better, and new physical activities that i could get involved to stay fit and busy? remember im a college student so i dont have a lot of money to be doing expensive activities, and i need a new way of making friends. it was easier being on the team because everybody who played sports knew eachother.

  1. I went to school at Penn State, and they had an "excursion club."  We would go on hikes, rock climbing, ice climbing, etc.  The equipment may be pricey, but I am willing to bet that will loan you some.  Or, join a tennis/racquetball league.
