I notice people describe parts of the US as like"the mid west""the south east", wheres an index I can look at?

  1. There is no official definition of the regions (or actually, there are several different official definitions).

  2. Here's a regional map that divides the states up about right.

    I think Delaware and Maryland should be in the Mid-Atlantic section though.  West Virginia is neither South nor North nor East.  Maybe it should have its own region.

  3. Look at a map....the states in the northern eastern part is the NOrhteast, the ones in the middle on the atlantic ocean are the mid-atlantic states, the southe east are those states in the eastern, southern part of the country etc....it's really just common sense
