I noticed my ceiling leaking so I went into the attic and found a leaking pipe coming off of my air conditoner

. Is there a way that I can stop the leak myself. I am leaving out of town tomorrow and need to try to stop it or call someone quick.

yeah you can make a temporary fix by just simply using duct tape. this is TEMPORARY though, the pipe needs to be properly repaired or replaced, when you go to tape it be sure to turn the A/C off because you need to dry the pipe off well first it cant be wet when you tape it, you could also try using caulking, the pipe will need to be water free in this case too though and for a long enough time that the caulk can set, this would be a more permanent fix (although not proper)

If this is from the pan drain (usually 3/4 PVC) the duct tape will be a quick fix. If the leak is in a joint it may have to be reguled and refitted, if in the pipe itself a dresser coupling could be used.

turn off the ac til you get back. it is more than likely your lowside line that goes from your condensor to the evaporater. You can purchase a black insallation for the low side line at lowes and wrap it yourself, make sure to tape after you install it around your line.
