I noticed my companies stock dropping daily should i be concerned about my job security?

  1. If you have a lot of money invested in your company stock by individual investments or through a retirement plan in addition to being employed by them, you should be concerned. You would have too many eggs in one basket.


  2. Yes.  That could mean the future earnings of the company are in doubt.  And the stock price has to do with their credit rating, and their ability to borrow and carry on business.

  4. Not necessarily, if you've noticed there are a long line of other companies, some of them quite solid, that are also dropping. No point in getting all worried and scared if a bunch of investors and traders are simply dropping your company in order to put money in the new flavor of the month. I don't worry about the fickle interests of others as long as what I myself do is working okay.

  5. Perhaps. If the answer is yes to any of the 3 questions, be worried.

    1) Do you see top managers, executives leaving the company? Even a couple executive VP types can signal they know something the lower level managers don't.

    2) What happened in the last earnings report. Was there weaker guidance in the future? Could mean job cuts.

    3) Are there any SEC or federal inquiries into accounting matters?
