I noticed that my hamster was scratching, and took off an entire clump of fur from the side of her body? ?

I checked, and there seems to be a little cluster of blackish spots on the place where she scratched the fur off. I washed her. She seems to have stopped scratching now. Her cage is clean (aspen bedding). But I'm worried about the black spots. What could it be?

  1. They are fleas or mites....yes hamsters can get parasites.

Get some flea powder for rodents at your local pet shop and put someone on her and brush the fur back so the powder falls into her skin. It should clear right up

  2. take her to the vet, i have never heard about this

  3. She's probably irritated herself...it may be nerves.  Take her to the vet, this doesn't sound good.

  4. Maybe you should move her from her cage and what do you mean by washed her?

  5. are the black spots her scent glands?

sense they are on both sides?

    i..dont...know.

  6. i say take her to the vet!
