I noticed that my kitten's entire right side of her face is swollen.Any advice? It doesnt seem 2 be buggin her? I checked the inside of her mouth, and it doesnt look off or anything. Her eye is leaking a clear liquid, and I keep lightly dabbing her eye with a clean cool cloth. She isnt an out door cat, not recently anyways, I did find her outside, but she was in perfect condition, other than being hungry. I do have other cats, and they do play fight, I however didnt notice a cut or scratch on her face whatsoever...I need some help, the poor thing looks like she got punched in the face.

  1. If it's swollen, that sounds like an allergic reaction to me, maybe a bee sting or other bug bite. Monitor it closely to make sure it doesn't continue swelling. If it does, get her to the vet asap to make sure it doesn't get to her airway and endanger her breathing.

  2. (-_-)     take her to the vet...

  3. PLEASE TAKE HER TO THE VET RIGHT AWAY.  She may have a life threatening infection.  Even professionals can't always find the initial infection cite.  She may a have a scratched eye.   Her symptons should be taken seriously.

  4. If you ever notice anything strange with your animals, get them to the vet right away.  Witholding medical assistance for an animal is considered abuse.  We can guess all day, but we weren't there.

    GET IT TO THE VET.

  5. It could be a cat bite abscess, and needs antibiotics.

  6. Take her to the vet!

  7. She may have conjunctivitis or an eye infection.  Either that.. or she did get bit/scratched and it's infected.  Sometimes it's hard to find a puncture hole when it swells up like that.  Either way, you are going to have to get her into the vet!  They will give you antibiotics to treat it.  She should be fine.

  8. It's either an allergic reaction to a bug bite, or a reaction to a cat bite.

If it's a cat bite, it can get very bad, and will definitely need medical intervention.

It disturbs me that her eye is leaking. It is good it's clear liquid and watery.  If it gets thicker like pus, you have trouble.

Make sure she is eating and drinking normally.  Very critical in a kitten.

If it is still swollen tomorrow, not improving at all, you really need to see a vet.

  9. poor thing if it looks serious than take her to the vet. i would hold her and then try to put some ice on that side of the face or some medicine to help swelling but make sure its for pets and not for us it might make it worse. not sure but i know ice helps swelling and it might hurt so the numbness of the ice might help.

      hope she gets better

  10. take her to the vet.
