  1. No, it will happen over a period of weeks, the first flowers that appeared will be the first to ripen and so on until the last.

Used the first crop of mine this year last night and they were delicious.

  2. they will ripen over a period of 1 month if on several plants-now would be good time for green fried tomatoes

  3. No natures amazing ... or you could make green tomato chutney ... lovely with a chunk of cheese.

  4. It depends if they are determinate or indeterminate variety..a determinate tomato will fruit all of it's fruit..and all ripen at once..then die..an indeterminate tomato variety will fruit all season a few at a time and ripen as they grow a few at a time..here is a link to give you this info..also you can take green tomatoes if they start to turn any color at all besides green on the bottom and put in a paper bag with a banana and ripen them up..this takes a period from 1 week to 2 weeks but will ripen them..here is some info and pictures of my garden..

  14. Good for you!  I wasn't able to plant my garden this year.

If you have a food dehydrator, spray the shelves with pam and slice the really thin and let them go for 24-48 hours.  Put the dried bits into a cuisinart and chop well.  Use for soups or other tomato flavorings.  The crushed/minced toms can be stored in the freezer for a long time.
