scientist. I don't exactly remember the details, but it made such sense that for a brief moment I thought I had discovered the secret of the universe. He mentioned something along the lines that everything that has ever happened, or that will happen has already happened. This explains why some people are able to have visions and dreams of the future, because, essentially there is no such thing as "the future" --all events are sort of happening at the same time, or have already occurred, but to us they appear to happen in a linear fashion (e,g, today, tomorrow, one month from now, one year from now, etc) I know this sounds confusing and strange, but has anyone ever heard of this theory? Could anyone explain this theory more clearly and in more detail?

  1. It's worth looking into.  God says that He is the beginning and the end.  If He never began or ended, it would involve a circle that keeps taking place repeatedly.

  2. Someone just mentioned this the other day on my question about the time change..and I replied that maybe that's how some psychics are able to see the future. This might not be the one you meant...but I'll try to copy the link and put it on here.

Here it is:It was white dove's answer

  3. It sounds like this person was offering his understanding of how time and space interact in this universe.  This wasn't an explanation of the universe, it was an explanation of that individual's personal philosophy.  I can understand how you had an epiphany when hearing it, but that doesn't make it anything more than speculative theory.

I would be curious to know what sort of empirical data he was basing this on.

  4. Well, It's too much to explain on here, but some scientists believe that instead of the usual 4 dimensions (3 space and 1 time) that there may be 10 or 11 dimensions. If you look up "M theory" in wikipedia in gives a decent explanation.

So in theory each dimension could be at a different place in time. Therefore its all happening simultaneously. Kind of confusing, I know.

  5. Reality is in the eyes of the beholder. What may seem real

to one person, may be absurd to another. People tend to

live in their own little worlds, where delusions are reality

and visa-versa. It is impossible to predict the future, but one

can speculate the outcome based on past occurrences.

Reality is here and now. Lack of knowledge induces fear.

Fear cause's people to loose touch with reality, with place's

them in a cocoon of imagination. What happened was real,

we have the proof. What's going on this moment is real.

The rest is up to the imagination.

  6. in reality, reality is reality

    reality is, is reality does

  7. I am happy  there is a person other than me who is interested in pursuing on this line of thought. I know it's hard to explain in here, but if i were you, i could go to a book store and buy some books about Reality. For sure there are books on this line of thought of yours, but the advance ones are called or under the book section of "NEW AGE TEACHINGS".

If you know about the international  group which is called "THE THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY", you can visit their office or you can call them. They have much, much book about this New age Teachings and also books about Ancient Wisdom.

Presently, i am into reading a book entitled "NO BOUNDARY" by Ken Welber.I guess you will like it too.

  8. einstein has mentioned a little bit of this ..

"If we can see the future, then it must already exist"

.. Since time does NOT exist.   Its mans greatest invention.

The only thing that is consistent is that we know the sun will rise and it will set.   THAT IS ALL.   But we just so happen to call this 1 day .. or 24 hours.    So ..  if time dont exist ..  then today ..  Mondays .. March..  and 2008 also dont exist.

Our lives are really .. just 1 long @ss day .. lol .. with many naps.    Theres no such thing as 1am .. or  6pm.. and if there is no such thing as time .. then our ages are also imaginary.

This is just a VERY small fraction  of it all.

this topic goes under  Physics .  they study the concept of time .. energy and space...

. check out these videos ..  I know there is A LOT of them .. 14 I think .. but IT IS what you are looking for.     Start with this 2nd video ..  and make your way up.    well worth the time

  9. The idea is that any point in time and space is like the center of a dandelion, with all possible outcomes radiating out like the seed stalks.  It's part of an attempt to come up with the theory of everything.  It's  quantum physics/mechanics.  The more you know, the less you wish you knew.  After studying it long enough you end up quantum anxiety, a felling that the whole bottom might just fall out of everything. (read The Nine Billion Names of God, a 1953 short story by Arthur C. Clarke) and you'll get the idea.

Thanks to the Chaos theory hopefully they are wrong, Chaos  rules!

I would like to think that the decisions I make every day are good for something!  I work hard to not s***w up things any more then they are.  I know that there are right and wrong choices,  like not driving over a cliff, I can't believe that if I did, things would work  ok!

  10. This is a version of Kurt Vonnegutts novel "Slaughter House 5" which is about a guy who survived the fire bombing of dresden germany in ww2 and came unstuck in time.

The downfall of this theory is that we have little to no evidence that its possibly for people to see the future. We have a bunch of legends and stories, and a few people who announce their predictions after the fact.

Most, if not all of the famous psychics use a known technique called "cold reading" and don't actually predict the future.

As far as science is concerned, the future can not be fortold through devination or visions.
