  1. Its bad for the environment.

  2. There has been some concern about the plastic bottles that the water is sold in. Sometimes it is stored for long periods of time before it makes it to the shelves & there may be some chemical transfer going on from the plastic into the water. There has been a lot of new information on the safety of certain types of plastic & it's possible long term effects on humans. I can't even imagine how one could avoid plastic packaging now... or plastic plumbing.

  3. Don't be fooled , most bottled water IS tap water. There are no regulations for bottled water. Your best bet is to get some kind of water filter like a Brita pitcher or faucet filter and a reusable water bottle so you cut down on all those empty bottles in the trash.

  4. Tap water has things bottled doesn't that you need like flouride. Depending on where you live, i'm sure your tap water isn't that dirty. You can also buy a filter for your faucet that will take out the "dirty" parts of the tap water so you can drink it w/o thinking its dirty and also getting the flouride you need.

  5. No.tap water is nasty

  6. Usually there's something wrong with anything you drink, you just have to choose the better of the evils. Drinking from polycarbonate can poison your organs very badly, some bottled water has had too many minerals removed (distillation is the best method to prevent this) and without them, the water trys to refill them by sucking them from you! It can cause major headaches literally. Chlorine from tapwater will bleach organs, but some bottled water contains flouride which kills brain cells.  I drink either filtered water straight from the fridge's filter, or from a gallon jug of distilled water from Walmart if I'm on the road. There are some waters that come from mineral springs containing lithium, etc.... some rare selections like one I wont name from India, contain so much good minerals they will give you much better health and energy levels so they say, but as with all things, lots of time should be taken to truly evaluate this. If you're really worried, take some glass bottles to the redwood forest or something and get it from a creek and distill it yourself.

  7. Not bad for you, just much more expensive. BTW-Some bottled water IS tap water

  8. yes it is harmful it way contain any kind of chemicals

  9. THAT NO BAD, IF THE SINGAPORE NO HAVE WATER,HOW DO WE SURVIVE?: WE SHOULD DRINK.................. WHAT WE HAVE....THANK U.....TERIMA KASIH.........

  10. Drink beer. There, answer solved.

  11. I don't drink tap water either the only time I use it is when it has been boiled

  12. It is not bad for you, but if that is the main way you get your water, make sure you recycle the bottles. It takes decades and decades for those to break down, which is not really good for the environment. As long as you recycle it when you can, it is perfectly fine. I drink bottled water also.

Bottled water can be bad in only one way. Don't leave it in the heat for hours and hours. Like, if you have water in the car on a hot day, and drink it like a day later when it has already cooled down. Some of the plastic from the bottle could actually melt into the water and this can be dangerous to drink. I have seen some articles talking about studies done on this, and it has been linked to cancer. I don't want to scare you or anything, you would likely have to drink like that for years, so you have nothing to worry about. I just wanted to let you know.

Tap water isn't dirty though. I had to actually visit a water treatment facility in high school, and I saw first hand that the water gets extensive treatment. The treatment people told us that the reason why water differs in taste from city to city is because different water treatment facilities add different minerals to the water to give it a taste. The guy said that once water is fully filtered, it doesn't have a taste, therefore minerals have to be added. If the water tastes nasty to you, it is likely just that you don't like the minerals that your particular water facility adds to the water.

  13. im 14, i drink tap water after it is boiled int he kettle and left to cool.

Bottled water is just as good, but its really not necessary to be paying a few dollars eachtime you're thirsty.

And tap water is not dirty, its steralized and cleaned. Maybe bottled water comes from the tap also.

    ^^) cya.

  14. Try not to drink just bottled water or if you prefered bottled one try to change the brand of the botteled water.

  15. Actually, it just depends on the tap that the water comes from and/or your local source of water.  The water in some areas is called "hard" water, meaning that it has lots of other particles in it that are not really good for you and dry out your skin. "Soft" water can come from taps, too. It has fewer harmful particles but can have some beneficial minerals and such.  But to really answer your question, no it is probably not bad for you the only thing I wonder about with bottled water is how long has it been in the bottle?! Because plastic breaks down over time and can get in your water. If you are really concerned about the water you drink, try getting a water filter and filter your tap water because I would think that would be the cleanest. =)
