Question:

I only get my period every 2-3 months what should i do?

I have seen the doctor and he told me to go onto the pill and lose some weight because i am a bit over weight.. but i took the pill and lost come weight but it did not do anything.. Im 16, left school 9 months ago and am looking for work, im not really stressed only a little bit.. my eating habbits havent really changed either.

  1. i say birth control is your best option..

    and if your over weight yes looseing weight can help

    but if your drastticlly changeing your diet that could be why too

    and genetics as well..

  2. You should look up poly-cystic ovarian syndrome and see if any of the symptoms described fit you. This can cause irregular periods, and is caused by too much testosterone in your system. There are things you can do to help, such as lose weight as your doctor suggested. But if it is not controlled at an early age it can lead to fertility problems in the future. I'm not trying to scare you- just give you an idea of what it could possibly be.

    It could be as simple as the fact that you are so young, and your body has just not regulated itself yet. There may be no cause for concern.

    If your doctor thinks birth control is your best option- try it. I started BC when I was 17 because of heavy and irregular periods.
