  1. I agree about the visit to Museo Larco.

Precolumbian art and the archaeological sites that you are probably visiting during a trip to Peru are very difficult to understand unless you get a good brief at a good museum...

  2. A must see in Lima Peru is MUSEO LARCO, in Pueblo Libre.  www.museolarco.org

It's open to the public 365 days a year from 9-6!

It is the home to the famous Erotic Gallery, that displays ancient peru's erotic pottery. It is the largest collection of this sort in the world!!!The museum also let you walk into it's storage area where you can see over 45,000 classified objects.

You may also want to see the Plaza de Armas in central Lima,  the catacombs at the Monasterio San Francisco, and lima's chinatown known as Barrio Chino.

For eating....you can eat at the Museo Larco's Cafe, one of Lima's finest, and try some Chifa- Peruvian Chinese food.

  3. pyramids for sure, they should be top priority.

  4. Go downtown to the Main square (known locally as "Plaza Mayor" or "Plaza de Armas"). Try to get there before midday so you can see the changing of the guards. Then check out the cathedral, the Church of San Francisco and the Osambela house. A visit to Santo Domingo church (just past the main postal building to the left of the government palace) were the body of Saint Rosa rests could be interesting.

Head back to Larco Mar in Miraflores and have lunch there (best view is at the "Mangos" cafe were the buffet is not bad. If you have time, try to get to Pachacamac in the outskirts of Lima to the south. It is a pre-Inca temple which was very important, even during Inca times.

That should take care of all the time you have in Lima.
