I'm having a birthday party for my daughter on Sunday, problem is, it starts around lunch time, which now I feel obligated to feed the guests, which are mostly grown ups. The only thing I have a lot of is hamburger meat. Does anybody know what I can make with it (besides meatballs) as an appetizer or finger snack? Something??!! Pleaze help!!

  1. Myabe you could do a taco bar?  It would be inexpensive and would please both the adults and the children.

  2. I think if I were in your position I would just make some lasagna - the recipe's on the back of the Mueller's lasagna noodles. And let people take as little or as much as they wanted. If you have really lots of burger you could make two dishes of it. As an appetizer, you could always make little burgers and serve on party bread, with or without cheese. I don't think people are really that picky - as long as something is served they'll be happy.

  3. Beef & macaroni & cheese - divide into individual, smaller portions, like ramekin sizes if you have them.

  4. Put refrigerated biscuits in a muffin pan, press down to form a cup shape, add a spoonful of sloppy joe,top w/shredded cheese. bake until lightly browned. These are easy to serve and are good at room temp. You could also make mini hamburgers/cheeseburgers and put them on small dinner rolls. You can make these ahead and warm in the oven before the party. These look pretty cute all piled high on a tray. I hope the day is a happy one!

  5. MINI TACO SCOOPS

1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef

1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning, divided

    1/2 cup water

    8 ounces Mexican blend cheese

    8 ounces chunky salsa

    1 (12 ounce) bag Frito Scoops, bite-size

1 (8 ounce) container sour cream

--In a large skillet over medium-high heat fry hamburger until almost done, chopping to break up the meat into small pieces. When meat is done, drain grease. Add half the pack of taco seasoning and water. Continue cooking until water is evaporated. Add salsa, and mix well. Add half the bag of Mexican blend cheese. Mix well until cheese melts. Set aside. When ready to make scoops, fill each one with a little meat mixture. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sour cream and the rest of the pack of taco seasoning. Set aside. Top scoops with additional cheese. Put on a large baking sheet, and bake in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

    HOT HAMBURGER DIP

    1 lb ground beef

    1/2 cup chopped onions

    1 can chilies

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

    1/2 cup parmesan cheese

    1/2 teaspoon garlic

    1/2 teaspoon chili powder

    1 teaspoon sugar

    3/4 teaspoon oregano

    1/4 cup ketchup

--Fry up the meat and drain the fat. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 1 hour, stirring often, adding some water if needed. Serve with tortilla chips.

    Hope the party goes well!
