i havent played volleyball in years but i want to play for my senior year. as a 12th grader i will automatically be put on the varsity squad. my skills arent so great, but i'm working on it. still, i feel i cant catch up on my own. instead of stressing about it so much, i figured i could spend most of my time working out and getting my body into shape by jogging, sprinting, toning, and swimming. our coaches stress conditioning. its why are volleyball team is so great. the players never get tired. i think a good team is 40% skills and 60% conditioned. what do you think? what should i focus on? how can i be the best i can be in a month?

  1. you do have to get your body into shape ..toning the places you need the most for volley ball .like your:

    arms, legs,etc.

Then you have to practice volley ball .. like

    setting, serving, spiking, bumping,

if you cant do these its going to be REALLY difficult for  you

    >> you should find time to get together with your friends in the summer to play some volleyball together  ..that way you have fun and you can practice :D

    good luck and GOD Bless

  2. Get your body into shape first then you need to left weights to build up your arm mussels to that on a serve you can really Do it good. get a volleyball and pass or set to your self.

  3. try doing 10 or 12 sit-ups than take a 15 sec. break.. than do 10 or 12 more situps and take another 15 sec. break... than do 10 or 12 more sit-ups and u r done... do that once or twice a day...

  4. work on your conditioning!! it is always the hardest
