Is there much of a difference? I have seen this question answered the other way round. (Women on a mens bicycle...)

I bought a second hand Apollo Monaco....

  1. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the bike fits.  Women's bikes tend to have a little shorter top tube length but that's about the only difference.  Sometimes the seat is a little wider.

  2. Hey---it gets the ladies to get near you ( and maybe they'll ask " you're a feminist rookie on a WSD bike, right? ) then you can just say, " Naaaah it's my sister's, then ask her to go with you to a bike shop and ...well, give HER a test drive.  (  get me drift?)

  3. A stereotypical womens bike has a top tube that goes down at a steep angle, and a man's bike has a top tube that goes straight across, but a competitive womens bike is just built a little shorter than a men's bike.
