I opened files on my daughters mac computer and don't want her to know. It is obvious that I have seen stuff I should not have. How do I delete or remove what I have seen so she doesn't know I was on it?

  1. Just tell her you were curious about her computer and apologize for snooping. Why make a big deal out of it here in Yahoo Answers?

  2. If it's webpage stuff simply delete the history. On safari click the history menu and delete the history or go to the bookmarks area and delete the specific pages.  I'll assume it was files though.  They show up in recently viewed files and you can clear that as well, I don't think they show up anywhere else, nowhere noticeable anyway.  Under the apple go to recently viewed and delete clear recently viewed items.  As far as I'm concerned snooping is fine, but you're not allowed to use that information for punishment, just to learn more.

  3. First off before I answer i would like to apologize. I can tell you exactly how, and i could download a program and do it for you. But since I get so mad when my dad snoops around in my computer and doesn't tell me, I'm not going to help. I have to very sincerely apologize, and I know you don't want an answer like this, but I feel it's the right thing to write in. You have every right to go through your daughter's files and computers, but don't do it secretly. Ignorance is not bliss. I speak for most people when i say you and your daughter could come to an agreement about routinely checking her computer, instead of you spying on her. And, if she deletes things before you check, you will know. So anyway, what I'm trying to say is, don't be secretive, that's almost the same thing as lying.

Sorry again for writing this, but i felt i had to.
