I opened the patio doors to the backyard.....?

Question

to let my cat out, she stood there and looked around then stared at something so I looked where she was looking and saw a SKUNK!!! go under my deck, it is dark but I could still tell what it was, I quick pushed the cat back into the house with my foot and shut the door and watched him for a while, this is the first time I have seen it but I have read they like to live under decks, is there a way to tell if it is living there or just visiting? I live in Minnesota and it is winter here, I might go check out the paw prints tommorow, he came from my neighbors yard about 10 feet away. I thought about reporting it but it is 2am and it would probably be gone by the time they got here.

There are skunks in my yard all the time.  No big deal.  Just leave them alone and they won't hurt you.

Assuming you don't want the skunk living under your deck, you can either trap it and relocate it many miles away (not recommended, unless you are expert) or you can try dumping a box of mothballs under your deck.

You don't need to report that, skunks do anything, just the bad smell. And don't put the cat out so late at night.

let ur cat out!dont u know ur cat will groul at the skunk and scare it away?oh oh better still if it doesnt work like throw sumthin at it but from a distance ofcourse!or take an alluminium pot and a spoon and make a lot of racket.use ur imagination man!!
