Whilst living at uni, i ordered BT internet in my flat which was an 18month contract. I have now moved back home, it has been about 8 months and i wish to cancel so that i dont have to pay any more each month.

Is there any way i can ask BT to cancel it?

If yes, is there a charge?

Otherwise, im going to be paying monthly direct debits for internet im not even using!

Thanks

  1. If you move to a new place you can transfer the contract to the new address.

But if moving back home and your parents already have an internet contract then you will have to suspend the contract. Contracts CANNOT be cancelled.

BUT you will be liable for a single payment of the remaining 8 months contract so make sure you change it to the LOWEST contract  first.

this will cost you at least £80! to suspend the contract and close it down.

  2. You should check your terms and conditions; some don't let you cancel payments until the term is up; some allow you to cancel but they make a charge.

Check your contract; but don't be surprised if they make you pay.

  3. The best way is to call 0800 800 150 - mention your no - select opt 3 , opt 3 , then choose for broadband service - speak to them

or best call 0800 800 030 and speak to customer option team ...

you can cancel it but its not easy task ....

it will cost you. as you have 10 mon contract.

But if you are not a regular user. then better go for lowest option.

    like option 1.

as you already have router and other stuff ...

Internet is the basic need for today...

if you don't have internet computer is a show-box....
