I ordered something online, the order status is confusing me?

I ordered something online just a few minutes ago. It said the authorization could not be completed so i tried again. Then i looked at 'my orders' and it listed two of the orders i had supposedly made! So right now i'm very confused. I clicked on 'more details' about the orders and both said;

Order status: Prefulfillment check started

I am completely clueless about what this means.
