Only if your check is more than what you owe.

The IRS will put the stimulus payment towards your back taxes.  Hopefully you have setup something the IRS for your back taxes, you don't want to be hit with late penalties and interest.

If you can't pay, the IRS will work with you to setup a payment plan.  If you qualify, you could receive an offer in compromise, which you will only end up paying a fraction of what you owe (very hard to obtain though, need to prove many things)
