ok i before the snotty ignorant people start saying nasty things to me let me explain my situation real quick. i lost my job and still owed washington mutual 1 last payment of a 4 payment settlement. i owe them 1,319.00 i was living with my mom she was helping me out with the payments. she could not help me out anymore because she spends 500a month on medication and is not super rich. since then i have moved out- i am living in a shelter - i have no money no car and no job. its tough out here now and im trying. well wama keeps calling my mom ans she asked them not to call because i am not there. they said i have to call them to tell them that- well i did and this morning i happened to be over by her apartment and they called again 2x. do they still have a right to call or are they harrassing her. just because i owe money i still have some rights and they should stop calling if i told them i cant pay them right now. i told them i will keep in contact and once i have $$ i will snd it.

  1. If you still have any equity in the house and hope to salvage it, you'd better get in touch with them and negotiate some kind of plan to rescue it.   Otherwise, they'll just add your house to the foreclosure list.

  2. Have your mom send them a certified letter (signature required) that says you don't live there, she's told their employees repeatedly you don't live there, she is not liable for the debt, and will sue if they keep calling her.  She needs to keep a copy of it.

If you'd like to take care of this for your mom, you send them a letter and say you no longer live at that address, will send them a payment when you can, and if they keep harassing your mom, she'll sue them.
