I own a Chevy Lumina and when i turn the key nothing happens ?

I own a 2001 Chevy Lumina. As I said above i had it looked at all around by the chevy dealer! but now i will turn m key and it will either start and then turn off and ill do it again and push the gas petal or it won't even turn the lights on in my car as if i am doing nothing at all. I had that happen today to me and I waited a little bit and turned the key again and it started but it took about 5 turns of the key to get it to do that. I know its not my starter but i dont know what it is or how to fix it since I am in college. Someone please help!!

take it and have the V>A>T>S vehicle anti theft system looked at sounds like what you are describing

your battery may be dead.

The battery terminals need a cleaning.

you said your light won't even turn on it's your battery terminals there dirty cut  or you battery is weak and if it starts and dies its your alternator

And make sure your clamps are tight on that battery!
