My Hummingbird 200dx fish finder work okay with exception of the boat's speed. Speed and tempeture are both suplied via the same cable. I get tempeture but no speed. Is this caused by a defective cable or how the receiver is mounted on the boat transum or something else?

  1. Not sure if this is a new install or if you had it for a while and it did work and now it does not.

If a new install - check that the paddle is just below the boat bottom, not too much but enough that the water will hit it when you are underway.

My experience with this series of units is that the low end speed is not as accurate as the high end speed.

  2. check the wheel and see if it turns freely

  3. i got the same one on my boat, mine stopped working about a year ago and i replaced the cable which has the sensors in it and it started working again, unfortunately i had to pay for the cable it wasn't under warranty, but for now it works again, those are pretty good units, the speed part of mine i know isn't accurate, but at least it works, mine got damaged by hitting something in the water, good luck.
