I own a MacBookPro. I want to record guitar in Garageband. help, please?

Question

I bought a stealth plug, a waste of 100 dollars. It's compatible w macs, but not w Garageband. (stinks, right? )

I record with the internal mic, but it has lots of feedback, and it's just horrible.

I was thinking of buying an m Audio fast track interface. ???

Some people say it's really good. others don't agree.

All I want to do is record some good sounding guitar and not spend more than 150 $$$.

I have spent wayy too much, on unecessary equip.
