I have downloaded a codec which has enabled me to get my footage to play in movie maker, only when I try and drag the footage into the storyboard movie maker shuts down. The movies

are stored as mpeg and when imported into movie maker after the codec does it thing they are mpg. Please help as I would rather not have to fork out for Sony Vegas.

  1. The website which will answer ALL your questions about MovieMaker is :-

  2. Instead of doing it that way, try ripping the DVD in your computer using HandBrake - then bring that file into MovieMaker and see what happens.

When you are ready to get a camera that gets along with your editing software, consider a miniDV based or hard drive or flash based camcorder - DVD based camcorders provide the worst available video for editing.
