The check has no name or personal info and Im sure the name he signed is false. Is there any way to track down this fool or am I S.O.L?

  1. he got the pizza and you got nothing. who's the fool?

take the $$ from the person who accepted the check.

  2. Call the cops.  Where I live, it's illegal and the police actually make arrests.

  3. Check with the bank that the check was issued from. They can give you they name of the account holder and they can check if the signature is the same as the check that you got.

If the account is still valid you can call in occationally to see if there is enough funds to cash the check directly to avoid it bouncing again.

But if it is not a local check, you really are SOL.

After that, they would be the ones to consult.

  4. This is exactly why most businesses don't accept starter checks.  Many years ago when I worked in a mall store, I had to decline a starter check from a US senator, because it was against company policy.

If the check was marked "NSF", you may try redepositing it.  If it is marked otherwise, mark it up as a loss and a lesson learned.

  5. Call the local sheriff dept. and they will assist you.

  6. Initiate Criminal Proceeding, against issuer.

Also lodge FIR, with 'Economic Offense Wing' of Local Police.

    With all the Best.

  7. You accept personal checks with no name or info on them?  Without checking ID?

And your pizza joint is located where?  I want to place a very large order.

  8. You're most likely stuck with it. Hopefully, no one at your business will accept another check with no name, info, and photo ID. That's just Business 101.
