I own a mercedes s 2001 and it wont play my cd is it because the car is old ?

do i need a older device to burn the cd because the car is a 2001

  1. After all may be the head of your CD unit need cleaning...


  2. I think the first post is on the right track.  Try another CD ( preferably a store bought one ).  Those players sometimes don't recognize burned CD's.

  3. Many automotive CD players won't play a burned CD at all.  If it plays commercially recorded CDs then you've identified your problem.  But do try a different brand of CDs first.  That sometimes will work.  My older Accord won't play a burned TDK CD but works fine with Sony.

  4. Make sure when you are burning your CD you're using a CD-R, not a CD-RW (re-writable). Most audio CD players cannot play CD-RW's. I have a 2001 Saab and it plays my CD-R's just fine. Also, when you're shopping for CD-R's look for a package that has the slowest write speed. Hope this helps, and good luck.
