I own a store and i was told that if i ship an item to someone then i dont charge tax, is this true?

My store is a sole pro and its in Florida.

  2. Only if they live outside of Florida.

  3. Be careful with this.

    If a Florida resident buys the item and wants you to ship it to Georgia, you probably still have to charge a sales tax.

  4. I believe that's only if they live outside the state of Florida.  If they live in your state, you would still need to charge tax.  That's how it is in MO anyway.

  5. Yes, it's true.  That is the trade off for consumers - buy in store you don't pay shipping and handeling, order it and you don't pay tax.  It has to do with interstate commerce.

  6. You won't charge sales tax to out of state buyers.
