I paid for my hotel 3 weeks ago on my debit card, it still hasn't cleared??

i went to charlotte 3 weeks ago and stayed for 2 weeks. I paid for it on firday june 27th. every time i've ever paid for any hotel room, its usually shown up by the following week as i typically go out for the weekend. this was for 2 weeks, i got a bill under my door when it was time to check out, i checked out and like i said, this $1050 for the room has yet to clear. any ideas as to what is going on? i put this on my debit card, i have the money for it to clear, but i'd hate to forget about it a month from now if its still not cleared and they decide to clear it. i was under the impression that it would take 3-5 days at the most. this stuff usually shows up instantly with my debit card.

i know they used one of those older credit card machines where they put in the carbon paper and make a copy of the number. but even when i've used this method at the mall, it took 3-5 days. like i said, its going on 3 weeks. i know they wont forget about a $1050 room bill.

dude u basically got a free room. lol but seriously if they dont bill it make sure u go to ur bank and ask for a purchase report which tels u what has ur card been used to buy. if ur an honest person and u dont see the room charge u can call the hotel and tell them about it if not leave it alone. i personally would check with the bank if it hasnt been charged check with the hotel and make sure u have reciets of ur stay just in case they are crooks and try to take u for more money. :)

On very rare occassions, I've had delays with hotel payments showing up in a timely manner, but they always do eventually. This could especially happen in the case here where the records are all paper rather than electronic. Almost three weeks seems excessive, but it depends on when they actually submit the charge. It should come through soon.
